Mississippi Hospital Governing Board Members
The Mississippi Hospital Association provides
a newsletter Mississippi Trustee on a quarterly basis
to current trustees of our member facilities as well as on-going
education through web-based courses. Additionally, a trustee
educational break-out session is offered each year at the annual
Leadership Conference. The member facility is charged a yearly fee
of $105.00, which includes all current trustees of the facility.
The Mississippi Hospital Association offers
Trustees an award of excellence with the The MHA Distinguished
Hospital Trustee Award.
ELIGIBILITY: Each year
MHA may recognize one individual who has demonstrated significant
contributions to the field of hospital governance over a sustained
period. The individual must be an active member of a hospital board (or
its corporate board) that holds membership in the Mississippi Hospital
Association.
CRITERIA: The recipient
may or may not be professionally involved in the provision of health
care services but must have made a significant impact and/or meaningful
contribution to the hospital and community. The individual must be
recognized by his/her peers as having a high level of proficiency and
demonstrated competence.
PRESENTATION: The
MHA Distinguished Hospital
Trustee Award will be presented at the Annual Leadership
Conference of the Association during the House of Delegates or other
designated time. The award also may be presented posthumously to a
family member at another time of year.
RULES: Nominations may be
submitted by a Board Chairman, another Trustee, or Chief Executive
Officer. Only one nominee per hospital may be submitted. Nominees
submitted in previous years may be resubmitted for consideration.
Nominations must be postmarked prior to Leadership
Conference.
AWARD COMMITTEE: Named by
the Chairman, MHA Board of Governors.
