Health Care Marketing & Public Relations

 

PURPOSE:

The purpose of the MHA Society for Health Care Marketing & Public Relations is to advance the development of effective marketing and public relations in hospitals, which hold active institutional membership in MHA, and health care organizations affiliated with MHA.

 

OBJECTIVES:

  1. Conduct educational programs and activities to strengthen and develop the marketing and public relations function and promote professional development.
  2. Provide a medium for the interchanging of ideas and dissemination of professional information and materials.
  3. Provide a forum on the marketing and public relations function and explain the impact of this function to other appropriate parties.

 

MEMBERSHIP:

Individuals eligible for membership shall be individuals with marketing, public relations or related responsibilities within a hospital that holds active institutional membership in MHA or a health care organization or other business affiliated with MHA or an institutional member.  Membership shall become effective upon receipt of specified dues.  Membership of students shall become effective upon approval of letter of application. Applicants shall be actively engaged in the study of marketing and/or public relations.

 

The membership fee is $60 per year, per person and entitles the individual to receive:

 

  • Subscriptions to Newsweekly, Mississippi Hospital Association Annual Report, Mississippi Hospitals (a quarterly magazine)
  • Mailings regarding seminars/workshops
  • Pertinent subject bulletins of the society in which you hold membership
  • A directory of society members
  • Registration at educational programs with “member” tuition status and advocacy and participation in the political process which directly affects our industry.

 

In addition to our other benefits, membership in our affiliated societies also offers health care professionals a forum for networking with their peers, with many opportunities both online and in person to share and learn from and with each other.
